New York City's Catskill Aqueduct was built circa 1911.

Bids are due Feb. 15.

Scope of Work

The contractor will oversee rehabilitation of the aqueduct, which has been in operation since 1915 and delivers and average 400 million gallons of water per day.

Contractors will oversee cleaning and coating exposed piping, valves, conduits and equipment surfaces with an epoxy system. The owner-approved manufacturers are Tnemec, Sherwin-Williams, International Paint, Carboline, PPG or an approved equal.

The project will include coating all concrete surfaces in contact with the sodium bisulfite with a high performance semi-leveling epoxy lining system. The system will include a two-part epoxy primer with superior adhesion to concrete. The owner-approved manufacturer is Carboline, or an approved equivalent.

Existing materials might contain hazardous materials. The contractor will oversee testing and containment of existing materials to determine if existing coatings contain lead or asbestos.
